How do I delete text my text messages from my samsung galaxy 3?

I just got a samsung galaxy 3 for christmas this year from my mom and I was textin my boyfrend and we were texting each other dirty texting and I don't know how to deleate text messagess off of it yet and I caught my mom reading my texts how do I delete my texts off of my samsung galsxy 3?

Go on the conversation part (where its yellow, blue etc)
You should see a bin in the right hand corner of the screen. Click on the bin.
It'll give you tick boxes next to all the messages. click the tick boxes next to the messages you want to delete and press delete, or cancel if you've clicked the wrong one by accident.
Takes time tho.
This is what I do for my Samsung S 3 anyways :)
