Some people escape from reality by doing things that harm themselves, such as alcohol and drugs. I do not recommend this.

If you pick the right book, you can escape from reality that way. Or you can find a television show that interests you (although reading is better for the mind).

Think about what kinds of genres you like. Are you more interested in romance, science fiction, fantasy, or mysteries? Do you like stories with lots of humor or lots of tension and suspense? There are several different genres you can choose from. Look around to find one that you like the most.

There are many people in the world who don't like to read. But that's only because they haven't found a book or genre that interests them.

One other thing I suggest is meditation. But meditation is not an escape from reality -- instead, it's an escape into yourself. If you do it right, you will really enjoy it.

This is one thing I do all the time: writing stories. You can create characters and stories that never existed before, or you can write stories based on your life. I'm only thirteen, but I have written two novels. They are both romance stories that are based on my experiences at summer camp.

Whenever I work on a story, I go into the world that the characters are in. It's my way of escaping from reality, and it's actually very fun once you get into it. You feel what the characters are feeling and go through the experiences they go through. When you write a story, you can create a whole different world if you want to.

But if writing really doesn't interest you, there are other things you can do to escape from reality. Find an activity that you truly enjoy -- preferably a low-energy activity -- and you will get lost in it if you really like it.

Sometimes it's nice to be able to escape from reality after a long day. Finding something relaxing to do is helpful. Listen to some calming music, light some scented candles, and curl up on the couch with a good book. Or if you're like me, get your computer and start typing up a romance novel.

I hope I was able to help. It's easy to escape from reality if you find something that works for you.
