Question Posted Friday August 23 2013, 1:00 am

8th grade- female

So there's this new guy at my school and he's reaally cute. I was talking to him today at recess (he's only in a few of my short, minor classes, so we dont talk at all ) and we were just exchanging the usual, He likes boarding, I told him it was really cool, my friend mentioned I do gymnastics and he was really impressed by it and he asked me questions and told me he has a trampoline at his house - he also said he gets staight B's and I laughed and said me too ,,and basically we really hit it off, and all my friends say we'd be cute-- ?? but the girl who introduced us -my bff, in his class- is really pretty and I'm insecure that he may like her instead of me.. basically my question is- How do I leave a cute and good impression on him? We're hanging out tomarrow at lunch , so please answer soon! thank you- so sorry for spelling/grammar my device is almost dead and I do not have time to go over- thanks!!

Hi! I'm another eighth grader. I agree with Lauragracey1 that kindness and personality is much more important than appearance.

I just want to give you a few more tips on leaving a good impression on a guy:

- Smile and be confident. When you're talking with him, keep showing that you're interested in who he is, and he'll think you're a fun person to be with.
- Understand what this guy likes to see in a girl. I can tell that he's probably interested in your personality, so you're good with that.
- Don't be afraid to flirt a little. Who knows, he might flirt back!
- Be there for him. If you think he's not having a good day, ask if he's all right. Show him that you care about him and that he can trust you.
- Always remember to be yourself, because you are a special and unique person.

Here are a few other things that guys sometimes look for in a girl:

- loyalty and trustworthiness
- generosity
- a good sense of humor
- intelligence
- patience
- a unique personality

I hope I was able to help! By the way, don't worry too much about your best friend. Maybe she's pretty, but this guy clearly thinks you're unique and is impressed by your personality. Just remember to keep up what you're doing and maybe try some of the tips I suggested.

Good luck! You're a great person, and I think it will go well.
