Looking for a weekend job I'm a 14 year old female and I've been looking for a weekend job but I'm struggling to find one.
My question is, what kind of things would you recommend I look at? I know that not many places can hire 14 year olds so if you could think of some suggestions of places or jobs I could look at, I would be so grateful.
I've looked at hair/beauty salons and catteries/kennels..but like i said, I'm not really sure what other jobs to look at.

why don't you make some flyers for babysitting and cleaning houses things like that . ]
The problem is state and federal labor laws which restrict employers to hiring those that are 16 and older. For those that are between the ages of 16 and 18 they must have working papers which in most states are issued by the high schools. These working papers tell the student and future employers what types of work a student can and cannot do as well as the hours they can work. Both you and your future employer must sign these papers and return them to your school before you can start working.
So unfortunately the types of work you can do now are those young people your age traditionally do. Which would include, babysitting, yard work, house cleaning, painting, dog walking and other neighborhood jobs.
I do like the idea of volunteer work to get work experience. Some volunteer work may not be available to you because of your age. Places to look at would be senior Citizen living Centers wear you could organize activities for the elderly, read to a shut in or be a companion to an elderly person. I don't know if hospitals still have these jobs but they use to call them candy stripers. These were young people who brought books around to the patients, read to patients and generally helped the nurse as they were allowed to.
For regular paying jobs you'll have to wait until you are 16. ]
I do a paper round-and I'm 18. But the fact is a job is a job in this climate!
Your best bet is volunteering in charity shops. I know its not paid. But if you do it for like a month, you'll have experience. So when you're abit older you can then stand head and shoulders above other people your age when applying for shop work-because you'll already have experience.
Its an insurance issue really with hiring someone at such a young age. They only other thing I can think of for now is babysitting.
But you could try to make money by selling stuff on ebay.
But take up volunteering in a charity shop. Even one months experience can get you a job in the years to come. ]
