Job Interview

Question Posted Tuesday May 14 2013, 2:06 pm

18/f
I asked about the Staples job interview and I loved your answer.
I do have one more though. I know most interviewers open up with "Tell me about yourself." and I really don't know how I should answer that.
I haven't had much job experience except when I went to college for a semester and worked in a bakery. I don't know if I'm supposed to list my strengths but I was thinking that would be if they asked "What are your strengths?"

So what exactly am I supposed to say for that question? I've tried googling but nothing really related to my inexperience.

The tell me about yourself question is usually one that is asked to help put you at ease. You can talk about working in the bakery what you like about it most people like working with other people meeting and greeting customers maybe the hectic pace of the bakery making the day go by fast things of that nature. Whatever comes to mind don't give a lot of thought just whatever comes to mind.

When asked about your strengths this is probably the hardest question to answer for two reasons One reason is that most people have a tendency to be too hard on themselves or underestimate themselves. Another reason is having a hard time figuring out just what the proper thing to say is your case being young and talk about your school experience maybe a good Mascouten English maybe not so good in the sciences talk about the bakery maybe you could cash register it with dealing with people but you couldn't tell) from a white bread something of that nature. This is just another way for the interviewer to gain some insight into you don't put a lot of thought and it just give them what comes to mind when you're sitting there thinking about it now and just let it come out when you're there
