For almost 2 years now i have been suffering with sever abdominal pain and have almost lived in the hospital. The pain can reach the point where i pass out.I hsve had a lot of tests done but none have come back with a proper diagnosis.I have even been psychologically tested on 2 occassions.I have had my appendix out and they found cancer in it but it had not spread and they told me i was depressed which im not.The pain is in my lower right side and out through my back and sometimes in to my rib cage.During the summer my bowels bled severely.I vomit at least 3 times a week and faint at least once.I am so sick of it that i wont go to a hospital anymore.I dont know what to do anymore and I am feeling so ill.Any advice??
We did, by luck of the draw the patient referral person set me up with an appointment with one of the top neurosurgeons in the country. He also was the head of the neurosurgery recovery unit for the hospitals trauma center. I sent him all the medical imaging and information from the doctors I had seen. It took him 5 minutes to diagnose me once we met. My problem was not muscular but skeletal and was not surgically correctable.
He set me up with the hospitals pain management center at their rehabilitation hospital which is also or I should say ranked in the top 5 in the county. It too is a teaching hospital.
If there is a teaching hospital or a medical school, which will have a teaching hospital associated with it, I suggest calling their patient referral line for help. They after speaking with you will set you with an appointment with the proper doctor to do an initial evaluation and if needed refer you to another doctor within the hospital.
What is nice I found about the teaching hospitals is the doctors have to stay ahead of their students for the students are always trying to please and show off to their supervising doctors. The interns, residents and fellows are not looking just for the pickle in the pickle barrel. They want to find a hearing in that pickle barrel. This is how they learn and please their supervising doctors and instructors.
Teaching hospitals are among the best in the country as the doctors and the residents stay on the leading edge of medicine. They will work to find your problem and generally have to most advanced equipment to so with.
If you do not have a teaching hospital near by then you should have a level one trauma center near by. The doctors that staff the trauma center also staff the hospital. Those doctors are among the best in your community. They have to be as they are presented in the trauma unit with some of the worst cases to deal with.
If you cannot get to a teaching hospital then call the referral line for the trauma hospital and let them arrange an appointment with the doctor they believe is best suited to see you initially. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

Im not a doctor, I just read your situation and I am just wishing you feel better soon and they find out ways to make you back to the road to recovery.
Try to keep your hopes up.
Try to think what is your purpose why you are here.
Maybe it is to be an inspiration for others, maybe it is to be a friend to others.. i dont know just try to keep busy so you will not focus on the pain.
Imagine the more people you help, the more pain will go away!
Or write and draw on a journal..Write a book!
I really hope you get better soon!
We are never given anything we cant handle anyway, so am sure you can beat this! Because you are definitely stronger than pain!
