Im very concerned and need reassurance. So far i have been working out for a few months, losing alot of weight (but im very healthy) i dont starve myself.. to be specific i eat 3 meals a day, i do Insanity and i run for a good hour or more.. i was getting my period normally but after a few it started becoming very irregular, stopping and coming back after a few days. or coming and then randomly stopping after just a little of blood, like i dont even remember the last time my pad was full. :/ and im very worried because i feel like now that im thinner i wont be having a normal cycle, should i not be concerned about this? maybe when i reach my goal weight and maintain it my period will be regular again? When i was 14 i used to starve myself because i wanted to lose weight and i lost a drastic amount of weight in a very short amount of time and my period stopped coming for 3 months then i gained all the weight back and it was very normal again.. but now im 18 and this time it didnt stop COMPLETELY now that i eat healthy and workout but it comes and then it just randomly cuts off, and its starting to really scare me. Please let me know if this is normal, thank you very much :)

You may not be aware of this but female athletes such as the Olympic athletes do not get their periods and the younger ones, like the young teenagers are very slow to develop. The reason for this is the strenuous training they do for their sport.
I can't explain exactly why this is but it has to do with how much energy they burn training. IF you are suddenly training or exercising as hard as you describe you are robbing your body of some of the reserves stored in the fat the body uses to regulate other things such as your period.
Their is nothing wrong with you and your period should return as you exercise routine slows down once you reach your desired goals. If you are concerned though a check in with your GYN would be in order just to ally your fears. ]
A change in daily routine/diet can effect your monthly visitor. Considering you are exercising everyday, and from what I've seen Insanity is quite the excessive work out, *I watch my friend do it, I can't do it, because I'm pregnant ;p* I honestly believe it will change your period, as it did for her. If anything, I would consult your gynecologist, or family doctor, she did and he suggested birth control pills, if you aren't already on them, try getting put on birth control pills, as they may also help to regulate your period. ]
