I have aid and I still got money to take classes in the summer. It all depends on your award and the school. Talk to your financial aid department. They'll be able to pinpoint all the information you need.

I work in my school's financial aid office, and it depends on what kind of student you are. Are you a part-time or a full-time student? If you have been a full-time student for Fall and Spring 2012 semesters, you probably will not be able to receive financial aid for summer courses. HOWEVER if this is your first semester OR you are a part-time student, you may be able to take summer courses.

I suggest that you call your financial aid office and talk to them, since every school has different tuition costs, just to make sure that what I am saying is valid at your college.

Ask the financial aid department at whatever institution you are going to apply to what the rules are about summer courses and aid. I would venture to say NO and only full-time but such a policy and rules about money is something they can only answer for sure. They know the system inside out and we won't.
