Please help me! I'm so paranoid about the world ending on the the 21st of this year!
Hi! So I'm a 12 year old girl and I have VERY bad paranoia. Well people say the world is ending on the 21st and I all know you all don't believe it so can you help me believe that it isn't true? Please? I'm about to cry! :(

Fear thou not! People have been predicting the end of the world since the day it began. In some cases so-called spiritual gurus or prophets convinced followers of such that they gave up all their money and possessions to go up to the mountains and await doom or ascension.
I heard in one instance my father related that a leader was killed by his followers when the end of the world didn't come I believe in India. No matter who made the prediction be it an ancient civilization nothing will happen Dec. 21st.
If the world were to end on that date you can bet there would be ton of credible people and those from NASA that would be hollering that from the highest mountain. They aren't so relax. It's an irrational fear and belief. Nothing more.
Ancient civilizations couldn't understand what 2012 and the future we currently live in looked like anyways and could be way, way, way off calendar or not on everything. I wouldn't worry Dec 21st will pass and Santa Claus will be here to stuff his fat ass down the chimney Dec. 25th. Focus on enjoying Christmas or the holidays as this is nothing to get worked up over.

Crackpot religions and self-styled prophets and psychics have been promising that the end is coming for EVER. Now the world's a small place these days with instant global communications on hand. Don't you think that if ONE SINGLE PERSON anywhere on earth could, or ever could have correctly predicted the future we would know about it? The Mayan civilisation became extinct. They couldn't even predict and prevent that! Relax mate. The nearest 'our' world came to effectively ending was back in the cold war years when the west faced-off against the USSR and her allies and we each had enough atomic weapons pointing at each other to blast civilisation to dust. Ask your parents about it. There WERE some moments we ALL worried! They passed. We're still here. Drop me a 'merry xmas' line on the 22nd and we'll both have a good laugh. I guarantee it.

Relax! The world is not going to end. The media has made it this big thing and nothing is going to happen. Normally I would be scared about it as well but when I was younger "Y2K" was suppose to happen and it never did. Also if you really want to get technical...the Mayans did not include leap years therefore the world was suppose to end 3 years ago.
Live life to the fullest with no worries...because worrying will keep you from living your life!
