The reason why your hair is not maintaining its curl is because it has become fried. Try using hair masks, deep conditioning will help with the roughness and add protein back into your hair. Most importantly, your hair, nails and skin is a reflection of what you are eating so I would suggest eating healthy foods as well for optimal results. Another thing that would help with growth is biotin supplements, some people stray away from pills so it all depends on what you're comfortable with. When you start seeing some growth i would suggest getting a trim, so you can start getting rid of the damaged hair, its going to take patience and time but the hair that grows in should be bouncy and curly. Best of luck! [ yibelle's advice column | Ask yibelle A Question ]
Imperfectionist answered Thursday October 18 2012, 6:30 pm: my hair got destroyed because it is very sensitive to straightening heat and such. so at one point i pretty much cut off most of my hair, and started wearing wigs, weave, extensions, and such. least to say after less than 8 months my hair was almost to my shoulders again and much more manageable than before. try it. it's annoying and feels like forever but it's worth it. i made the mistake of messing with my hair again and plan to cut it again. don't make that mistake.
