My mom won't let me listen to the music I like.
So, I am a HUGE fan of Lady Gaga. I love to listen to her. The other day, my mom pulled me aside and told me she might ban me from listening to her because I am "obsessing" over her. I have tried to convince her she is good, but she says that she is evil and a horrible person. I respect Lady Gaga so much, and it hurts me to hear what she says about her. I am 14 and really want some help. I just want my mom to accept that I really like Lady Gaga.

you probably wont be able to convince her to like Gaga so just dont tell her you like her or listen her infront of your mom,no headphones,she has to accept it,thats who you are,when i started listening acdc and led zeppelin my parents didnt like it that much(i was 12) but i put their songs on all the time,in home,in the car etc. and in the end they accepted the fact that their daughter likes rock music and they are ok with it...you mom has to love the way you are,you are born this way :))

Same with me! I'm surprised I got tickets to her concert in my area in two months. So think of why your mom might not like you listening to Gaga. So
1) The 'stories' on the tabloids like how Gaga is a man or how she's lesbian or bisexual or whatever.
2) Her style of music. Lady Gaga has that 'I don't care what you say about me AT ALL' sort of thing, and maybe your mom might think you would become a rebel and might start running away.
3) She just doesn't like her. Her clothes, I mean.

I went through that stage with my parents at your age. Remember, most adults won't ever change their views about things,especially their personalities. Lady Gaga is very famous there will be places where you would go, such as the Mall, hanging out with your friends,restaurants, you won't be able to help it, you like what you like, tell her the fact that you like her style, and/or songs doesn't mean you are going to go out of your way to begin an attraction towards your same gender or dress in a meat suit. This is just one of the teenagers phase that many kids like you go through and it slowly goes away.

Why not ask her where her belief of the singer being evil comes from? It may have to do with Born This Way and prejudice towards gay, lesbian, bisexual people.
That's a reason she may dislike her. Lady Gaga is all about acceptance, advocacy for those who don't have a voice and inclusion. If that makes her an evil person I would hate to see her idea of someone that isn't.
Bottom line she can't make you dislike anyone or stop listening to music you like just as much as her parents may have done with her.
