Vertilago--It's a skin disease that eats at the pigment. In African-Americans it makes their skin look white.

he did not do it by choice. micheal jackson have a very rare skin deases that destroyed his cells that gave his skin color. have you ever heard of albino people? they have this same problem but with micheal jackson it happened after he was born. I am not sure what this deformation is called, but look it up. it is NOTtrue that he had surgery. look at pictures of him throughout his entire life very closely and you'll notice he got lighter over time, due to the skin cells dieing
