First of all you need to relax, and like Jess said, remember that she's human too. Secondly, try to practice in front of the mirror. It really helps. Put on a confident smile, and square your shoulders. To get her warmed up to you, be kind and do her favors. Remember that you are brave and you are going to do this! You're not gonna chicken out!

I used to be really shy, and I would freeze up when I only thought of approaching someone. I did it anyway, cuz I knew I didn't want to live like that. Today I have no problem saying what I want, and approaching all kinds of different people. It takes a lot of hard work, but it really pays off. Your brain is trying to protect you from getting hurt, but tell it that you appreciate it's concern, but you don't need it's protection, and you're gonna pull it off. Good luck :)

I was in exactly your position most of my school life. I always felt like I could never be myself around a girl that I liked because it was so crucial to create a good impression, so that I stood a chance. However, as soon as you leave school, and you realise how big the world is, how many millions upon millions of people there really are out there, it makes things a lot easier. I'm not saying it isn't still hard, but it does become a bit easier. What you need to realise is that unless you make the first move, most likely things will stay stagnant, and nothing will ever happen. You also don't want to be that person who confesses their love in your first proper conversation with her. A relationship is one block higher than a friendship. So that's where you need to start. Try and find a way to get to know her. The tricky part is finding something random to have your first proper conversation about. After that, your second conversation can start with something that relates back to the first one, if you know what I mean. Then just take it from there. Remember, if you never try, you've already lost. As for the freezing up issue, you just need to realise that it's not a matter of life or death if it fails or succeeds or not. Maybe it feels now like she is your 'dream girl', and maybe she is, but just think, would you rather watch her live her life without you from afar, or would you rather take a chance, and see where things go if they are meant to. Sorry about the essay hehe.

But the key is to just swallow your fear and talk to her!You have an abundance of things at your disposal to talk about,school music tv etc. If its too hard for you initially why not add her on facebook or some other social networking sote and start chatting there?sometomes its easier for.people to text or talk on facebook forst and then face to face.
