I to do something with these blank walls, but I can't paint... What about wrapping paper?
Question Posted Saturday June 9 2012, 3:45 pm
I live in an apartment and it is against the rules to paint the walls. I am going nits and would like to add some sort of color...What about wrapping paper? I know it sounds silly but my walls are white. I need some ideas! Something not messy and will not damage the wall.

Artwork and Curtains are damn good ideas. I often used tapestry type blankets to decorate the walls of rooms I couldn't paint. If you can make holes, that's a very good way to go.
If you can't even make holes, I'd certainly suggest the fabric/cornstarch method, especially if you are crafty. I've done this a few times and made some stained glass type images with inexpensive fabric on the walls.

Wrapping paper can be difficult, because it's rarely attractive enough to put on your walls. It's also very thin.
You could use wall paper instead. Stick it up using some sort of adhesive.
Also, you could use art work. I was in the same position as you. I got a whole bunch of canvasses and art I really liked, if different sizes. Then I put up nails and hung it all up on a whole wall. The whole wall was covered with different art. It looked pretty good. Nails are not a very big problem, you can just paint over the wholes.
But yes, there is not *much* you can do because your landlord probably won't appreciate you putting things up.
