About how long will it take to lose 10 pounds if..?
Question Posted Wednesday June 6 2012, 4:02 pm
I am trying to run at LEAST one mile a day. Usually two. I also have summer swim team practice for an hour 2-3 times a week and a meet every Saturday. I've been drinking 80 ounces of water a day and eating very healthy. No junk, lots of veggies and fruits.
I have lost 3 pounds so far and want to lose at least ten more. How long do you think it will take? Sorry, so impatient and want to see results in my body already.

Losing weight is not the same for everyone- it depends on your current weight, diet, average physical activity, body mass index, etc. As I'm sure you know, you need to burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight. The key- you MUST do it it healthy way. There are zero room for shortcuts with losin weight and keeping it off. The most weight you can lose, healthily, in a week is two pounds. This averages to about 1200 calories a day. Eating any less, however, would put your body in starvation mode and ruin your metabolism. Don't do it! I would recommend a food and exercise diary like My Fitness Pal. It's free and was rated one of the best weight loss tools around. It uses your age, weight, activity, etc to make a plan that fits to your goals. It's helped me and a though it takes getting used to it works and is worth it. But if you continue dieting and exercise, you will not only get into great shape, but you'll really see an improvement in the way you feel. Filling yourself up with lean protein builds up muscle, which revs up your metabolism, making you lose weight faster. Good luck :) [ alexisgirlie's advice column | Ask alexisgirlie A Question ]
