NinjaNeer answered Tuesday May 22 2012, 9:10 am: I took a look (paid members can see a questioner's history, but nothing else about them), and from what I can see almost every one of your questions has had at least one answer. That's a pretty great track record!
Here's the thing: if you ask a complicated question, we might not have the answer. Believe it or not, we're not all geniuses here who know everything. If you're asking a really specific question that's out of the area of our expertise, we won't answer.
Would you rather get no answer or an "LOL I dunno XD hope I helped"? We actually tend to take our positions pretty seriously and don't give out advice when we're not confident in it. This isn't Yahoo Answers. You get less responses on average than you do there, but they're much higher quality, in my humble opinion.
Nobody's making you post here. Nobody's making us answer. Heck, it's not like we get paid here or anything. We do this out of the goodness of our hearts. We hold ourselves to a high standard. If you don't like that, you're welcome to look elsewhere for your advice. [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
orphans answered Tuesday May 22 2012, 8:17 am: Hello.
You have to realize that we do not *have* to help you. We help you because we can. If no one answers, it is probably because no one can.
Do you type your question properly? Is it easy to read?
Do you keep asking the same question? If you do, people will get annoyed.
Are you courteous when people answer? Do you rate? Do you thank them?
If you just type a question, with complete disregard for spelling and grammar, as well as other peoples feelings (like this one), no one will answer.
Finally, if you hate the website, you can leave. You did not enter a legally binding contract, obligating you to stay forever. Just don't use the site. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
