~Pads/Tampons - though I would start with pads first if you are starting your first period.
~Painkillers - they come in handy for when you get period cramps. Anti-inflammatory painkillers are good like Ibuprofen. Midol, Advil and Tylenol are good as well.

You will want pamprin or midoel because you can get some pretty bad cramps. You will also want a change of pants and undies in case you leak threw.
