there are many ways a guy can react. If you don't want things to be awkward than you should try and get to know him better like tease him or make fun of him or just be friends. keep your friends close and you're enemies closer. If you text him and he doesn't know you than he would think like who are you how did you get my number or don't text me again and probably block you. He might think you're a stoker. The guy i liked i was really mean to him teased him hit him play around and then i got his number somehow and texted it wasn't weird at all trust me. There is another guy i like but with him we are really mean to each other and find each other staring at each other and guess what i actually like him.

this has happened to me before. If he is in one of your classes be like "hey this is (your name). did we have any homework for _____?) and when he texts you back be like ohh alright thankss :) or something. or be like oh, well what are you up to?" haha. if you don't have a class with him, this is what your convo may/should look like :) (- means you) (* means him)
-heyy
*who's this?
-haha, guess
*(he guesses)
-yeah(: OR noo :b (depeding on his answer.)
*well who is it? OR oh cool, how did you get my number?
then you say -oh wow, sorryyy. My cousin/friend took my phone and started texting you! I think she took your number from he phone. my baddd. but what are you doing? hahaa

hope this helped!!! :)))

This is exactly like my friends situation. Start of by saying "hi it's blah" then he'll be like "hi" Then u could say something like "I wanted to tell you something" Then he'll ask what and you say you like him. Ok, to embarassing? Well, this is what i did for my friends. So they guy she liked had only talked with her a little. But i had gone to school with this kid before and he was my brothers good friend and a good friend of mine too. So I txted him and said "Text (my friends name) and don't tell her who it is cause i wanna ply a trick" So he did and she pretended she was cluless then she pretended to take a wild guess then got his # and she txts him today. If you don't have any friends like that then just say hi. It won't be embarrassing or humiliating as it is as first. What's the worst that could happen. Don't be shy :)
