How to be a fun babysitter?!

Question Posted Monday January 30 2012, 12:55 pm

I start a full time babysitting job in two weeks and I need to know how to be a fun babysitter. I'm going to be watching an 8 year old boy, A 6 year old girl and a baby boy who is 6 months. I'm not sure what to do to keep them occupied. Please help!

I have two little brothers(3 and 5... occasionally a 8 year old.) and I watch them ALL the time!

So speaking from experience they just love it when you play outside with them, like running around. Baseball, basketball. Anything out doorsie.

As for the little girl, it all depends if she is a girlie girl or a tomboy. If she's a girlie girl, play with her dolls with her. Tomboy do out doorsie stuff...I'm sure she'd still do out door stuff either way.

They also love to do arts and crafts so that could be something they could do.

Also, if the place your babysitting at allows it, listen to music with them. Dance with them. Have a good time.

The 6th month old, really can't do much so you can make faces and do weird things to make him laugh.

I know it's a late response but I hope I helped a little bit! C:

Honestly. keep the tv off. no cell phone. spend you time playing with the children outside or inside. Don't just let them play alone all the time and only worry about the baby because the two oldest children will be offended.

Bring crafts or toys along. They will be so excited everytime they see you if they know you are bringing a little something :) Or plan an activity, like a dance off or making (not cooking) food.
