Confused about High School Hi! So I'm an eighth grader, and I'm REALLY confused about high school in general. Luckily for me, in my town, the middle and high school are in the same building, so I'm not too worried about getting lost. Here are my questions:
1. What is the difference between AP, CP, and Honors classes? Which one is the most challenging?
2. I heard that you need 175 credits to graduate at my school. What are credits and how do you get them?
3. How do you get placed in a specific level? I earn A's in my classes, so would that determine my level?
4. How much do your grades count in ninth/tenth grade? Do colleges look at them? What about your grades in eighth?
Thank you so much :)

I am sorry that I cant help you your school is 100% different than the one I went to I only needed 23 credits to graduate. But I know dont worry they will explain everything to you and if they dont you can go to your guidance counsler and they will ]
1. AP classes are equivalent to college classes when CP prepares you for college.
2. Credits are points you get from doing certain classes. I am in 7th grade and I started earning these lat year. I go to a gifted school and doing things such a language has given me credits. I will have 9 credits when I get to high school :)
3.If you mean specific level like AP and CP then you get to decide that for yourself. At least here you do. So if you find your really good at math then you can take AP or CP math. That will give you extra credits.
4. All of your grades from 6th to 12th grade count for college. When you graduate from high school they will be averaged out and you will have a GPA. Which could be from 0 to 5.00. The higher you score the better.
