Am I eating too little? I'm female and 16, 5ft 10, 128kg. I'm vegetarian (if that changes anything.)
I never eat breakfast, an average lunch during school days would be a pita bread with cheese and a cup of tea or a yogurt, flapjack and bottle of water. Dinner varies, some things I tend to have are - always vegetables, potatoes, baked beans, egg, wheat free pasta, vegetable soups etc.
I exercise - Zumba classes ever Monday and swimming on Thursdays and Sundays.
My friend always tells me I'm far too skinny and don't eat enough. I use to be practically anorexic about two years back.
I said I couldn't finish the pasta dish I had at hers one time (it was wheat pasta which I'm not use to eating; I don't eat it at home as my mom is allergic to wheat.) and she had a massive go at me saying it's because my stomach has shrunk because I don't eat enough.
Should I eat more, or was she just over reacting?

I have always been a small person, 47 yrs old, 2 kids 5'4,104 lbs. I don't eat breakfast, sometimes lunch, moderate dinner and snack if I feel snackish. I used to have a very metabolism but as slacked some with age. I eat when I'm hungry and don't if I'm not. If I'm stressing I don't eat as much. If you know you had an eating problem and you feel like your not eating healthy or enough then you know what to do. If you not obsessing about needing to lose weight then eat when you feel like you need to. Every overweight person I know eats at the same time everyday whether they are hungry or not. They say they eat to keep from getting hungry. I say that causes obesity later on. ]
Thanks for your quick response. I was concerned. to better answer your question you are a good weight for your height and weight. Just eat properly and like I said nothing wrong with being a vegetarian just make sure you have a balanced diet.
Have you put your weight down correctly? Being from the USA I had to convert kg into pounds. When I converted 128kg the result is 281.6 pounds. This would make you grossly over weight?
As for being a vegetarian. There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian it is a very healthy way of life as long as you make sure to get the proper nutrition. This would include the proper amount of protein. Protein can be gotten from most cheeses, eggs, milk, soy and Tofu.
The best way to make sure you are getting the proper amount of nutrition is to visit with a nutritionist. Many heath foods store will have a nutritionist on staff who will help you with a proper diet. ]
You sound like you're in pretty good shape, being thin is just a plus. If you're not experiencing any fatigue or you're not always sick all the time, your hands or feet aren't always cold or if your nails don't break easily, I'm sure you're in good health. If you're very thin it's probably because your frame is of the ectomorphic type. If any of the type above apply you may be a bit weak in your immune system do to lack of nutrition. Otherwise you should be fine, to me it just sounds like she's either over reacting out of jealousy or out of worry. So if it concerns you, make an appointment with your physician for a general check up.
-Acid reflex can be a serious problem considering you were partially anorexic two years ago, I would opt for that doctors appointment. Better to be safe than sorry. plus frequent vomiting even in small amounts can be a serious problem, especially since you don't eat much. It could be do to liver disease or even gastritis (which is common for people that don't eat much or not regularly.) ]
