Stressing out big time! How can I remove some of the stress and talk to my teachers about my school situation?
Question Posted Monday January 9 2012, 10:57 pm
I am an 8th grader that is in the "advanced classes" and I take 9th grade Algebra as well. I recently missed quite a lot of school due to a loss in my family and then we went on break so I didn't get a chance to really catch up. Now that school is back on reprtcards come out in a couple days and teachers must have grades in soon and I have a whole bunch of homework and stuff to catch up on. I am feeling majorly stressed out. These experiences are really ruining my 8th grade experience. The only way I can really de-stress is my daily after school suff. I have drumline, honor band, gymnastics, and colorguard. This is a lot of stuff but it helps take my mind off of things. Since i missed so much my grades have dropped froms all A's to C's and D's. That is not O.K. with my rents @ all. So how can I remove some of the stress and talk to my teachers about my situation? Please help ASAP!!!!!!!!

I'm in high school right now, and ever since I started, I've worried about every little thing because I missed days for band stuff and being sick. I ended up with tons of 0s for stuff and I was FREAKING out. I went and talked to all my teachers about it, and they said that they understood, and fixed my grades after giving me adequate time to complete everything. I ended up with a 96 as my lowest grade for the last marking period (and I'm all advanced classes as well). So just go and talk to them about your situation. There's no reason that they should refuse to help you raise you grades. If you have a problem with them, just get your parents to send a quick email or note to them about it. Most of the time when parents email, the teacher will get it done with no problems what so ever. If you need any help with getting caught up in your classes, just send me a message and tell me what it's about, I'd be happy to help and do the best I can :) I hope this was helpful and good luck with everything :) [ mannequin24's advice column | Ask mannequin24 A Question ]
