tryin to get back with my ex they just wanna be friends for now theywasnt ready for a relatonship.They said dang back up and give it a rest, put a lil space there then maybe you will get the answers you are lookin for. whats that mean?

It means leave him alone/give him some space. That way you'll have time to think about things and then will apparantly know why he doesn't want to get back with you.
Your ex if your ex for a reason-you or he changed. So to get him back you need to stop contact for now.
Absence makes the heart fonder.
Improve yourself-and prove that your fine independently on your own and you've changed the fault before.
Guys hate it when girls act clingy, but he'll be attracted to you again if you act like your independent and don't need him. Then he'll be jelous of your new lust for life, and want to be in it again.

Well first off the way they said that was rude and disrespectful which no one deserves.
Bascially your ex is saying that they need time to think about getting back together with you. After that response though why would you want to?

They are saying, back up a bit give them space and let them breathe a little.. give them time to think about how they feel and what they want. If you push it too far.. you are going to push them away for good. Give them 5-7 days without talking, and see where that leads.. start off as friends again..and work from there.
