why do i feel the need to do my hair and makeup again? i stopped when i was 16. now i see all these girls and i feel intimidated because i dont really do anything but apply a little mascara. i want to be happy when i look in the mirror, but im not. i dont understand why because i should be happy. i want to dye my hair, but i know this is just going to lead to temporarily happiness.

Happiness comes with in. Make-up and doing your hair is not going to make you happy. What do you like to do? What makes you come alive?
For me it's singing and music...it brings out the best in me and just puts me in an overall great mood. Ignore those girls at school that seem to have everything going for them changes are they have things going on they just won't tell anyone. Think of something that makes you happy. Do something that makes you happy! Keep your head!

Never, ever be intimidated by girls plastering on their make up - once removed, they won't look anything like they do with it all on. Quite sad how people feel the need to change themselves like that, with all the fake eyelashes every day etc. Sure, it's good to dress up once in a while, but every day, all that pore clogging is doing noone any favours.
I reckon you're just bored. You're fed up of looking at yourself in the mirror every day and seeing the same old you. I do it sometimes, too.
Change something about yourself. Maybe a hair cut. You mentioned you wanted to dye your hair - do it. Change is good sometimes.
Instead of worrying about make up, why don't you buy yourself a tinted moisturiser. It makes your skin have a gorgeous, healthy, natural glow. Then apply a touch of blusher over the top. Sorted! You won't need a shovel to get it off and you'll look natural and radiant.
You need to be comfy in your own skin, hun. Not a fake mask of make up like a lot of girls out there.

Hey,(also female),

So, firstly you feel intimidated by other girls wearing lots of makeup? Don't be. Thats a sign that they're insecure in their own skin, so cake on a mask of makeup to hide the real them. And if you wear tons of makeup, unfortunatly people don't see you as pretty but as insecure and uncomfortable in your own skin.

Also, guys see straight through girls with tons of makeup, they find nothing more attractive than a girl whose comfortable in her own skin.

I'd say only wear make up to cover up any blemishes/acne, but remember less is more! I'm sure all these girls you feel intimidated by would kill for the confidence to go out with no make up. Embrace your natural beauty!

Take care :)
