i really wanna have sex with my guy the next time i see him but i'm freaked out about getting pregnant. obviously we'd use a condom but is just a condom enough?
adviceman49 answered Tuesday August 23 2011, 10:31 am: Used correctly a condom is less than 90% effective in preventing pregnancy. Most female contraceptive pills take correctly are 99% effective in preventing pregnancy.
The best way to avoid pregnancy is in the numbers. Birth control pills and a condom used together are the most effective way to avoid unwanted pregnancy. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

Are you in a committed monogamous relationship where you can deal with a pregnancy in a positive manner if it does happen? Then a condom is enough.
Jaelle answered Monday August 22 2011, 2:35 pm: Nothing is 100% and it's always a good idea to have backup, maybe you being on the pill? Anyway, just don't double-up on condoms, that NEVER works out well for anyone.
Rena-Chan answered Monday August 22 2011, 1:04 pm: A condom can be enough... But there are also faulty products that can break and still cause pregnancy. If you are not ready for pregnancy yet still ready to go that step, go to your local wal-mart, walgreens, cvs, whatever, pick up some spermicide. Also, after intercourse, you have 3 days and you can always take the morning after pill, it's a bit pricy though. Ranging from 25-50 dollars. You can obtain these from your local drug store as well. I believe it's called the Plan B or something like that. [ Rena-Chan's advice column | Ask Rena-Chan A Question ]
