workout cramps i just started this tough exercise called insanity (i'm sure you've all heard it) and it consists of a lot of cardio and bending down. my lower back has started to hurt and cramp a lot. i'm just wondering, is it normal for a back cramp to start traveling to the legs? i have a bad cramp on the lower right side of my back and the sensation's been kind of traveling to my right leg a lil bit. just wondering if that's normal or not, thanks :)

When doing excercise, you must always stretch, just incase you pull a muscle. This is fairly easy, and you should spend about 10-20minutes or so stretching before and after excercise, longer if its cold.
If you don't stretch, like i said you can pull a muscle: The muscle is relaxed and normal and when you suddenly move in an awkward position or something, the muscle almost gets shocked and can tear. Stretching before helps the muscle get used to the upcoming activity, and stretches it out to prevent pain. Stretching after helps to calm the body down after a heavy workout, and gets it back (slowly) to the normal feeling. Not doing so will almost shock the body as you are going from crazy hardcore excercise, to nothingness.
So yeah, stretch. And if you still feel the pain, painkillers, or some sort of heat spray such as deep heat may work. Alternatively, see a doctor.
Hope i helped :) ]
