Musical Audition songs???
So im new to the MUSICAL theatre(but not in theatre in general... ive done only stickly acting till recently) and im planning on auditioning for the local theatres production of aladdin jr. I need a good braodway song for girls alto/1st saprano.... any ideas???

You want to go for something unpopular. I have just come out of college studying a national diploma in musical theatre so I know a thing or too.
You don't want to go for popular songs, it will just turn into an impersonation of the song or will just be boring because the theatre director has heard it a thousand times. Also if you really want to go into detail, always pick a song that is similar to the Aladdin score/sound track as it helps with casting

Hmm...so many to choose from...you could try something from Hairspray if you think you can pull it off. Umm...there is always Grease if all else fails. Wicked would be fantastic to sing.

You Can't Stop The Beat-Hairspray
Hopelessly Devoted to You-Grease (This one is kinda hard so do this one only if you are sure you can pull it off)
