Why are you writing a letter as opposed to talking? Is she overseas? A letter would be much appreciated! Send away, being careful to obey customs laws and apply proper postage.
If you're afraid to tell her something, writing a letter isn't ideal, but it's better than not telling her at all. Maybe be over their house and leave it on top of the pile of mail on the counter.
