How to take off fake nails?

Question Posted Wednesday June 29 2011, 10:20 pm

Ok so I'm 13 and I got my nails done about 6 weeks ago and I'm soo ready for them to come off. Two of them are really loose and some of my real nail is coming off with it and it hurts soo bad. My dad told me I couldn't have fake nails but I went out with friends and got them done anyway ( I know it was stupid) so now he won't give me money or take me to the salon to get them removed. He says it's part of my punishment for "disobeying him". Anyway, since I can't get them removed by the nail people I need to know if there is a way to take them off on my own without pulling them off because it hurts. Help please?

you need acetone put some in a bowl and put hot water in a larger bowl underneath so it heats it then soak your nails in it it will begin to melt off

Buy pure acetone remover. Soak your nails one at a time (there's actually a jar designed for this) and they should come off without too much pain.

Another method is to soak a cotton ball in remover (completely saturate it) and use a rubber band to attach the cotton ball on top of your nail. After a few minutes they should come off. Don't force them off because you could permanently bend your nails.

- i can relate. the first time i got my nails done i was right their in your shoess. luckily, my cousin helped me out: you can soak your nails in nail polish remover (the one that can remove acrylic (fake)nails) . mix some (not a lot) in a bowl of hot water and let them soak. then try and see if any of them loosen up a bit. this worked for me but maybe not for everybody. ii hope this works, if not i apologize. but if you choose not to use this then you should wait until they loosen up on their own . once again i apologize if this does not help you.

Well you should have listened to your dad, but if you go to the store and buy nail polish remover and make sure it does not say non accryllic they should desolve and come right off good luck and next time listen to your dad he only tells you things because he knows whats best and he is looking out for you
