Losing weight?

Question Posted Wednesday June 22 2011, 12:45 am

13/f
Well i want to look good for my new school. Im currently moving in with my mom.

Witch is in sort of a bad naborhood, and she really has no yard.
I know you all say eat healthy. But she believes i'm fine how i am and she really only eats junk food.
Before you say i'll grow into it, my doctor said im done growing.

Im 4"10 taller than my mom and as tall as my dad. But im doing this for my person reasons. To feel better about myself and accomplished. I'm not one of those people who think there fat when there not. I'm not fat, but i do have a very excessive amount of fat on my thighs and my stomach. Its not all around to where i have a flat stomach. its in one small area but there's allot of it (Stomach, thighs) i even have some stretch marks on my thighs, but surprisingly there's not that much fat on my thighs.
I was thinking of starting to run, but its a bad naborhood. I would get into sports too but my mom doesn't have that much money. Any ideas? Besides excersizeing inside. My mom thinks i don't need to and she doesn't want the noise.

Okay so I completely understand where your coming from. I always had a little extra weight on my thighs and butt and stomach. I didn't think I was fat but it was frustrating to me so I always tried to get rid of it, especially when I was your age. I hated running and hated going out in my neighborhood to exercise so what I always did was small exercises in a space in my house. You don't even need exercise equipment, its expensive. I literally would go on the Internet and find exercises that can be done in a small space like crunches or squats or wall sits ( you lean against a wall like your sitting in an imaginary chair and hold it for 30 seconds to a minute over and over). They really do work if you really work at it and find the exercises that will help you the most. Unfortunately there is no magic pill you can take or magic food you can eat that will make you loose weight, it is a lot of hard work. This website shows different workouts that can be done in small spaces, i think its great. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Also, as you said, it's important to eat right. I know you know that already but people don't just say it to say it, it's true.
I'm 19 years old and I still have trouble liking what I look like, Ive tried tons of diet pills and none worked. What worked is doing lots of my small exercises and eating healthy foods that I enjoy.
Hope I could help!!

If you wish to lose that excess belly/thigh fat, there are exercises you can do to help with those. There's one exercise where it works both stomach and inner thighs.

First - Lay flat on your back, on a mat, or whatever. You can put a pillow under your head for comfort.

Second - Have your hands at your sides, palms flat on the floor.

Third - Keeping your legs together, lift them up to a 90 degree angle, spread them as wide as you are capable, close, and lower to about 6 inches from the ground, hold for 5 - 10 seconds and lift them back up to the 90 degree angle. Not allowing your legs to lay on the floor. Of course at least until you're tired or feel you need a rest.

You will of course feel pain. But this is your body breaking and rebuilding "damaged" tissue. Also, while exercising you will be burning fat, as well as toning your body. (So you know, losing weight without toning will result in stretch marks as well as "flabby" skin)

Also, be sure to go bike riding, or even jogging every day or every other day to help continue burning body fat. Cardio is a great way to burn calories as well as body fat.

Continue doing this. Remember : Perseverance and Will are very important to obtaining what you wish for. I know you know about this, but also eating healthy will also help, as well as drinking ICE COLD water. The reason I emphasize that is because when you drink 8 ounces of ice cold water, you burn at least 200 calories. Of course do not over drink water, because this can make you ill or even kill you. So all in all, drink no more than a gallon of water a day.

If you wish to know how I know so much, I use to weigh 320 pounds, and with a strict and strong will, I was able to go from said 320 to 140.

Just keep at it hon and you'll get what you want ^_^ Remember, dreams aren't worth dreaming unless you're willing to work hard for them.
