Question Posted Wednesday June 1 2011, 11:00 am

im a teenage guy, and lately ive noticed when i work out really hard, later when i go home i cant poo or shit. Like i push really hard but nothing comes out, just gas. Is this related to workouts? Because after i lift heavy, my body feels compressed, so this affect it at all. Please help im getting kinda worried.

as the dude said drink more water, if your not able to push out poop after a hard workout its because you have SWEAT all that water out and the water is used to help things move..also eat more fiber in the morning especially try fiberone or something like this just make sure your getting your fiber in alot of times when your lifting you focus mainly on protein intake and neglect everything but make SURE you get that FIBER in you

You should take a break from your workout and go see a doctor right away.

The first thing that comes to mind is that your body needs fluids in order to handle it's digestive processes well and working out could easily drain you of said fluids (sweat).

Try laxatives and drink more water. If that doesn't work and you stay constipated for more than a few days straight it's doctor time.
