Hi, everyone. My boyfriend who is 18 just got a ticket for being with a minor who was in posesion of weed. Although my boyfriend did NOT have anything on him he got a ticket. Can an officer really do that when he had done nothing wrong? Or could the ticket be from being with the minor? Also, my boyfriend has a past record, could this have somthing to do with it? And will he go to jail?

They are sometimes referred to as a desk appearance ticket. For whatever reason the Officer had it was not felt an arrest was required and a summons to appear would suffice. Failure to appear will result in an arrest warrant being issued.

I would imagine if he just got a ticket he will pay it and that will be the end of it. If he were going to jail I would have thought they would have arrested him on the spot.
