I can pay for my own Amtrak ticket but me and my mom havent seen my grandma who lives far away in like 2 years... Shes getting older and I would hate to know that the only way i could see her was if she died :( My dad hates my grandma, they never have gotten along! My dad wont help us and neither will his side of the family... My mom and her side of the family dont have that much money (kinda poor) and my dad hogs his money all to himself. We have to come up with $91.80 for my mom to go roundtrip! I dont know who else to turn to! What do I do?

They have half-price fares for children 15 and under, 15% discounts for students as well. They also have special fares from different points to different destinations. Amtrak occasionally offers companion fares as well so you need to continually check their website and be prepared to travel when they have these special fares.
Have you checked some of the low cost airlines like Southwest, Airtran, Jetblue and Spirit. They have some really low cost last minute fares available over the web only for booking. Usually these fares are on flights in the way early hours of the day and they use these fares to fill up planes that generally fly empty. The airlines call these flights positioning flights. They are really moving the plane from one airport to another to make up a flight that would originate at your destination airport but for some reason they could not park a plane there the night before. NinjaNeer answered Friday May 20 2011, 3:52 pm: Wow. Please, please do not go to a payday loan place! They charge insane interest rates (from 200% to 1000% or more... for reference, a typical credit card charges up to 30%) You can get into really nasty credit spirals by borrowing against future earnings. You borrow the money for the ticket. Next paycheck, you pay it back plus interest. But then you're $150 behind for next month, so you need to borrow against the next month's paycheck. See where I'm going? It's not a reasonable option.
It's the beginning of the summer. There are lots of jobs for a young person to do around this time of year, and it wouldn't take long to save up $100. Babysitting rates are usually about $5-$10 per hour. You can start a lawn mowing business, or a poop-scooping business, or walk dogs or wash cars. If you were to post flyers advertising that you're willing to do outdoor chores for a fee, I bet you'd have lots of takers... spring chores are tough, and nobody wants to do it. All it would take is 10-20 jobs at $5 or $10 a piece, and you'd be on your way! [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
