Hi, I like to draw my own characters like vampires elves and demons with unique traits but lately they all seem the same. Any suggestions to make a really cool different original character? Thank you! (no I don't mean ideas to copy btw.)

A pirate that has seventeen arms, laser cannons coming out of his nostrils, his beard is made of cacti, his left big toe is a hook, he flies a Jolly Kevin because he thinks, "That damn alien from American Dad is stupid," his musket fires death, and he has gills to survive underwater. How is that for original?
