I have relapsed 3 times....to this day I get the urge almost everyday. its not a long urge so as long as you can close your eyes, breathe in, breathe out and just concentrate on why you shouldnt do it then you wont. It is a serious addiction you should talk to someone about. For me, I replaced with with marijuana. Sometimes when I get the urge I will pinch myself or grind my teeth. Trust me, you dont want these scars. They arent bad ass, they arent attractive. Please talk to someone. You don't want to start that addiction. [ srh2323's advice column | Ask srh2323 A Question ]
lightoftruth923 answered Monday April 11 2011, 1:30 am: Ok so one thing, cutting doesn't make you emo.
Anyway, usually people cut because it releases anger or their sadness. Like the other person said, it's like punishing themselves.
I think you should talk to someone about it. Cutting can become a habit. I've done it since I was 12 and still struggling, I'm 16 right now. It completely switched my life around. Trust me, don't start and talk to someone. [ lightoftruth923's advice column | Ask lightoftruth923 A Question ]
AshleighLouise17 answered Monday April 11 2011, 12:57 am: Most people cut because they find it relieving from anger or sadness or because they suffer from Depression and they think they need to punish themselves. It can become dangerous because they can come too close to cutting a vein. I did it for 6 years because I found it to be calming and I was disgusted in myself. Cutting can be addictive once you start so If you feel like you can't stop then you should talk to someone about it, whether it be family, friends or even a professional therapist.
