How can I get rid of marks and pimples on my face.
Question Posted Sunday April 10 2011, 10:39 pm
Well, I'm M/15. Recently I've been having trouble trying to clear up my face. A few months ago it was pretty clear. My forehead is the place being hit by ugliness, my cheeks are fine. I have about three dark spots from old pimples that are gone, and a few tiny pimples as well. It looks clear from a distance but if you're talking with me, you'll see a few bumps. Is there any way I can clear up my face pretty well? I've tried different products and I think that those cleansers never work because if they did, they'd be bought less often and have a higher price, it only makes sense. I also don't want to put chemicals all over my face anymore. Are there any types of procedures that actually work? Weather it includes household items, liquid mixtures, and/or types of foods to eat or not eat. I'm sure there's a way. If you can tell me, that'd be good.

I use the 3-in-1 advantage kind, & it cleared up my face sooo well. They also have a kit with 3 different products to use (i think a cleanser, a moisturizer or toner, & spot treatment). Also, neutrogena has a kit like it as well that works. I do not recommend mixing products unless you know how your skin would react. You could get very irritated by 2 chemicals mixing.
My tips:
-right after the shower or in it, wash your face with warm water. then when youre done, rinse cold water over your face. This will close up the pours so no bacteria or other acne causers will get in.
-try not to pop a zit. This can make it worse (more inflammation, it can linger longer, cause scarring). but if you must, make sure you get everything there is out of it like the blood & puss, then wash your face. Clean & clear has a popped pimple spot treatment. Do NOT pop a zit unless it has a whitehead.
-sometimes a little lemon juice or white toothpaste on a zit will dry it out so it can go away more quickly. I do not suggest 'burning' your face.
-never pick at a pimple. this will just irritate it & cause scabbing & scarring.
-wash your pillow cases & sheets at least once every two weeks.
-try not to touch your face unless you are washing. The oils & bacteria can cause acne.
-try to replace all soda & other junk with water.
lovealways1221 answered Sunday April 10 2011, 11:44 pm: i've had acne for a while too but recently i bought some good products which have helped me a lot. This is my daily routine for skin care-
wake up. wash my face with Clean and Clear deep action exfoliating wash. This cleanser cleans your face down to the pores, getting out dirt and bacteria. It also has salyic acid which is used to get rid of acne. It also has exfoliating beads which exfoliate your skin (getting rid of dead skin, which can cause more bacteria and acne). Another good thing about this cleanser is that after you wash it off, your face tingles and feels cool and clean :) After washing my face, I put on Aveeno Clear Complexion Moisturizer. Aveeno is a really great brand because most of their ingredients are natural, which is always a plus. Its made especially for getting rid of acne and to leave skin smooth and maintain an even, clear complexion. After that, i usually just put on some make up (but since you're a dude, i doubt you would want to do that haha)
Then at night I wash my face again with the same cleanser, then put on the same moisturizer, then the final step is to put on Oxy spot treatment. Its this white cream that you apply on the area you have the most pimples and it basically dries out the pimples and makes them go away. You really have to be careful with this stuff though. If you put too much on, it can dry out your skin. So when you use this, put on a little. Less is More. Even if you think it wont cover your whole forehead or whatever, use just a little bit. I usually just use a pea size dot and cover my forehead with that. Another tip- after you put it on, you shouldn't really see the cream. Like when you squeeze it out of the bottle, it looks white. But when you put it on your face, it should blend in with your skin. So if you put it on and your face looks like white spots all over, then you put too much on.
Some more ideas to help get rid of acne are-
-steam! go in a steam room (usually in gyms or fitness centers) or even just a hot shower and stay there for a few minutes. it helps open up your pores, then the steam and heat will kill the bacteria
- drink lots of water. Water is good for you, no matter what. it helps you stay healthy, look good, and feel good.
- if you have a huge big pimple, take a Q-tip or towel and soak it in steaming hot water. Like seriously make it really hot. Then apply the Q-tip or towel to the pimple and hold it there for a few seconds. Dip it back in the water and hold it on the pimple again. Keep doing this. Your face should feel like its burning. The first few times I did this, my eyes watered because it was like burning my skin. But it really works. The really hot water kills the bacteria under your skin. Yes it might burn your skin (which can cause it to dry out, so make sure you apply a moisturizer right after you do this) but it kills the bacteria and makes the pimple go away. Now, i'm not saying it will go away in 1 day if you do this. It takes about 2-5 days for it to go away or at least shrink a little.
This is exactly what I do to get my skin looking clear, and it really does help. But remember, no 2 bodies are a like. So my skin and your skin could be completely different. What works for me, may not work for you. but its worth a shot :)
solidadvice4teens answered Sunday April 10 2011, 11:19 pm: See a family doctor about this. they may have sample tubes of prescription based cream that eats away at what causes the acne, unclogs your pores and eventually clears your face up. If they think the issue is too severe a dermaologist will see you and give treatment.
Household remedies and creams without prescription strength medication will fail against anything other than a mild amount of acne. People shouldn't put any stock in them as most of the time it's pouring cash down the drain into something that can't do the job.
