STD transfer

Question Posted Wednesday March 30 2011, 9:40 pm

Is it possible to contract an STD by accidentally touching semen because now I have an std

[ Answer this question ]

Additional info, added Thursday March 31 2011, 10:20 am:
I am a professional licensed massage therapist and after the client left I preceded to clean my space and my hand ran right into the semen in the towel. I have an issue with biting my cuticles and leaving bad open wounds. It's a really bad habit. Now when I ran into it I immediately freaked out because my fingers started to immediately tingle where my sores are on my fingers so I knew right then I had something to worry about. I went to the doctor about 9 days later because I started experiencing what I thought was a bladder infection and sure enough it was gonnarea. Now I put on gloves before I clean after a session. And I'm currently trying to cure my biting cuticle habit..

Technically gonorrhea is an STI which is a big difference, as it's curable, but yes, it's probable that the STI got transferred through the open wounds.

Sexually transmitted infections can be spread through contact. If his semen is a carrier for the infection, and you have it come in contact with a part of your body that is susceptible to the infection, then yes, you can contract it.

More information, such as the suspected infection can help people determine what you've got and what you can do about it. Some STIs can be stopped if caught early.
