If you were in my situation, what you would do?

Question Posted Friday February 25 2011, 4:54 pm

So, I am a 16 year old girl, 11th grade. There is this really cute boy that I see in the hallway quite frequently. We don't know who eachother is so I can't say like "oh, I think he is slightly interested" he is just cute and I would like to get to know him but since he is a senior we don't even have classes together. I think it will be weird to just see him in the hall and strike up a conversation. So guys, if a girl you didn't know did that, what would you think? And girls, if you were in my situation, what you would do? Thanks everyone!

The same thing happenes with me SO MANY times!
You should realise its your life. And this life is short.. so do what you feel like doing, girrl because its not going to come back!
It doesn't matter if he is a senior or in your class just go and say 'hi'and strike up a conversation and if you feel ackward about striking up a conversation like that ..just go and take advice about some common subject you have!
Just be confident. There is nothing wrong with going and saying 'hi' to someone you don't know properly..
If you are lucky enough then you will have the guy in no time ;)

Another (old married) guy vote here:

Having a girl come up to me and say hello would have been a dream come true when I was in high school.

I knew of this really pretty girl who was intelligent and funny. I'd never spoken to her, but I couldn't think of much else. I SO much wanted to just walk up to her, but I didn't have much confidence in myself and I wasn't even sure that she knew I was alive.

I made myself sick thinking about it for a couple weeks, but one day I had enough. I decided that I wasn't getting anywhere as things were, so why not take a chance. My story has a happy ending: that girl is my wife of 33 years this past August. We have a son to be proud of, and he has a family that we love dearly.

So, long babbling story, but YES! Definitely YES! Go say hello to this guy, you may be surprised. (And on the off-chance that it doesn't go well, keep in mind that he may be otherwise committed, not interested in ANY girl at this time, etc.)

I'm the "Take-Your-Shot" poster boy and encourage you to go for it!

I'm a guy and personally I would think this was really cool if a girl did this to me, I would diffidently interact in the conversation and would take the opportunity to get know this girl but I can't speak for every guy out there we are all different especially when it comes to girls. but hey go for it you got nothing to lose, and if this guy blows you off no big deal go find the next cute guy to approach. Think of it like this you could have a lot of fun just seeing how they react.
