my bf has hidden a bad secret from me for years and it just came out
Two days ago my bf got arrested apparenty for child porn charges. What do I do? His mother called me and told me... it hasn't been in the news and the prison where he is supposed to be at says I can't visit or even write him a letter without knowing his sbi number which I guess he has to give me. I dpnt know what to do

I normally wouldn't comment on something like this because I have an exceptionally strong opinion on the matter, but this can not go unaddressed...
Let's break this down:
- Your boyfriend was involved with child porn in some way.
- You would have to specifically and determinedly search for that type of porn, or be out there in the bushes with a camera, take advantage of kids in the family or neighborhood, etc.
- He was arrested for it, so it was probably not an unfortunate search term that came up with unexpected results, or an accidental click on something.
- He knew it was a bad thing, proven by the fact that he tried to hide his situation from you and presumably others.
So, here we go: what do you THINK you should do? Do you think that you should "stick by your man," get married one day and have kids? Wouldn't that be wonderful for everybody...
For those who would say that he's being called guilty without a chance to explain, here's my response: You do not accidentally stumble into child porn. You worked to find it or to get it by whatever means. These twisted people will do it again, and it will probably escalate from simply looking at it to something more.
So again, what do you THINK you should do? Do you really even need to ask?
