Bad friend?

Question Posted Sunday February 20 2011, 11:55 pm

I have a best friend or so i thought he was and something happened between us and now were not as close. he knows a secret that involves me and he wont tell me what it is about. I know its silly to get into a fight over this its just that he told me he cant tell me because he doesnt want to break the trust of the person who told him. but he told somebody else about it and she told me what he said. So he lied and is being a hypocrite about not telling secrets. this may seem like a dumb thing to get into a fight over but this isnt the first time hes done something like this. My other best friend can't stand him becuase she thinks hes a bad person and after what he did now i'm starting to believe her. He's a bad person and we haven't spoken in a week and we normally text everyday. I don't know what to do.

Best friends are like soulmates. They are meant to trust each other more than anyone else (except thier parents, of course). I feel he isnt acting as your best friend. If he would have considered you a very very close friend he wouldn't have done something like this. And would have told you that secret no matter what. I feel you should go talk this out with him but you shouldn't trust him that much. Try finding friends who are always truthfull to you no matter how bitter the truth is because at the end these are the friends you have to bank upon when you are in a bad condition and you need to have TRUST!

Hope I helped.

first off, he's not a bad person. he just made a bad mistake. and as friends, you guys need to be able to be honest with eachother. this includes you. you need to confront him. ask him why he didn't tell you but told someone else. its the only thing thats going to solve this. you guys just need to talk it out. everyone has either done something or has a friend that has done something stupid to jeopardize a good bond between friends, but it works out in the end if someone is willing to cop to it, say that they did something wrong. and its the other friend's job to forgive them.
