Son attending college: How do I encourage him to go?
Question Posted Sunday January 30 2011, 1:20 pm
I have talked with my son many times about going to college and he has not gone as of yet, and is 35 yrs old. What else can I do to encourage him to go to school, and make a better life for himself.

It will be a torture for him. I recommend getting him to go to a vocational school. Mechanics, truck drives, social workers all make very good money. Don't think of these as lowly jobs. They're just as good as any other jobs. Colleges these days are a big waste of time, a degree is not worth as much as before. Do you really want to put him into debt? What if he have trouble getting a job after college? You have to think of the whole picture here. The best choice is definitely vocational school.
