DearAbby92 answered Wednesday January 26 2011, 11:53 am: You can get what's known as oral herpes through kissing, which shows itself as a cold sore. Don't kiss anyone who has a cut in their mouth or on their lips, or has any sores. Other than that it's hard to protect yourself.
coconutcatastrophe answered Wednesday January 26 2011, 11:50 am: Technically yes you can get herpes (cold sores) if the person you're kissing has a breakout (cold sore) at the time. If you're talking about things like chlamydia or gonorrhea then no, unless there is some kind of oral-genitalia or genitalia-genitalia contact.
