so i shave down there and it always leaves bumps and makes me feel uncomfortable around my bf. i use shaving gel and a new razor and everything... i dont wanna wax it cuz it will hurt and i cant get lazer hair removal so any advice on what might help?
julie75 answered Sunday January 9 2011, 12:51 pm: I have 2 separate razors in the shower. One for my legs and another for my private area. Having a nice sharp razor will help avoid pulling the hair. I always shave in the shower as it helps soften the skin and hair. Try using soap first and then apply the shaving cream. I hope this helps and good luck. iloveaar answered Sunday January 9 2011, 2:31 am: every girl goes through this and i finally found a perfect solution for me ...wax it BUT have some kind of lidocaine first!
lidocaine is something that applied to your skin it makes it numb, its used before you have to get an injection or anything like that, i first found out about it through my dad(he's a doctor ) and im soo scared of needles and there was a time i used to get blood tests regularly, you literally apply it like an hour before and not even that much, and wait a bit and literally feel NOTHING , i had it aswell before puttin an IV on my hand and the same thing i felt nothing, ive been using it for years and i just love it lol ! but be careful not to put TOO much, just the right amount to numb for a short period of time , is usually sold as cream, so try to get any cream that contains "lidocaine" one example of this is the one called EMLA (you can get this at any real pharmacy not like walmart and that type) its not really that cheap and depends on the presentation but mine was about 25 dll, and to be honest if it helps me feel nothing and to wax which means having not to shave that often i think its worth the price
here's a description of it...
EMLA (Eutectic mixture of Local Anesthetic) is a local anaesthetic for topical application, developed to anaesthetise intact skin. EMLA is used to prevent pain associated with needle insertion, intravenous cannulation, laser hair removal and superficial surgery on skin and genital mucous membrane. It can also be used to relieve and prevent pain associated with the cleansing and treatment of leg ulcers.
goood luck and well thats a good alternaitive i can think of :P
also if you wanna keep shaving of course it helps to also like get the skin in touch with warm water , or you could also buy a hair removal cream, i have one of those and pretty much you get the same result as with sahving but with no pain at all, of course theres nothing like waxing but to my preference i prefer waxing cause it looks better, then id choose hair removal cream , and last resource shaving with a razor cause its painful sometimes and it doesnt even look 100% with no hair, sally hansen's hair removal cream its actually pretty good cause this creams usually have a very strong smell, and this one has no smell at all ! :) unless you hold it REALLY close to your nose of course hahaha ..
DearAbby92 answered Saturday January 8 2011, 11:57 pm: Your bumps are just razor burn or ingrown hairs.
Avoiding that is hard, but there are some things you can do.
Shaving downward (with the growth of the hair, not against) is supposed to reduce ingrown hairs.
I don't shave down there every time I shower because I find that if you give the hair time to grow, the shave will be smoother and bump free.
Waxing really isn't all that bad, it is painful but it's bearable. It leaves no razor burn (but the area can become red so be careful) and takes the longest for the hair to grow back.
There are products that you can put on the area after shaving to prevent razor burn. Try something soothing, with aloe vera. Check out your local drug store, I'm sure you can find some.
