Do I really have to wait for my best guy friend to make the first move?

Question Posted Saturday December 25 2010, 8:13 pm

Is it worth it? Will we turn out the same if I make the first move?

How am I supposed to approach him about taking this relationship further. We're best friends and we're like a couple, such as cuddling, holding hands, and talking about our personal lives, but excluding the title of boyfriend/girlfriend or any kissing/making out. I'm 50% sure he likes me and 50% he knows that I like him. But how do I tell him that I'm ready to START being able to kiss him, and call him my boyfriend.

We're both 18 by the way, freshman in college, and on Winter Break, and won't see each other for another 2 weeks.

Well, at this age, you need to make sure that he is committed to you, and wants a girlfriend. But I think you should lay out all your cards on the table, and tell him how you feel. (:

i think you should be upfront with him about it. let him know exactly how you feel, and ask how he feels. sometimes, guys can just be really dense. he might not be completely aware of how you're feeling about him. so tell him, and ask him what he sees for you two in the future. if he's cuddling and holding your hand, chances are quite great that he has feelings for you. so go for it!

I think you should just wait for him to make the first move because then you will know how he really feels about you. But usually the people that wait are the ones that get the best. Because trust me if a guy really wants to change the relationship he would do it already. Just wait, the best things happen to people who have patience.

Well in these next days until you see him think about your life with him. :) Make sure you don't want to just stay best friends.
What I say is just go for the direct approach. Take him somewhere or maybe go for a walk and tell him you really like him...and ask him how he feels about you. Chances are he likes you more than you think ;P so be bold and good luck!
