Peeps answered Monday November 29 2010, 12:38 pm:
Call your local veterinarian or pet clinic immediately. Explain what happened and about how much chocolate your furry friend consumed before you caught the issue. The animal clinic may want the dog to come in for observation, fluids, or even to induce vomiting if they feel it's necessary.

Waiting until the dog "shows signs" of being poisoned is one of the worst things you can do without being advised by a professional. Many times an animal won't show signs of distress until bodily functions begin to cease and things are becoming severe--possibly irreversible or when death is imminent.

Chocolate doesn't always kill dogs but it's quite a possibility. Don't wait it out. Call the vet. and see what they have to say. If they feel your canine companion will be okay if you keep an eye on him then do as they direct. They're likely to want you to bring him in to check things over though. Just because -you- don't see physical signs of harm doesn't mean the dog is okay.

Keep an eye on your dog. If it shows any signs to cause you worry, then take him to a vet. Chocolate doesn't always do bad things to dogs, but to most it does. Just watch out for your dog. If you're too worried, then take him to the vet immediately.
