I'm going to assume you are an unwed mother. If so most states will consider you an emancipated minor; meaning you have many of the privileges of someone 18 years of age or older. Check with you local social services office to see if this is true for your state and what paperwork you need to file so that you have proof of this status. Once you can prove this status it will make things somewhat easier but not a whole lot.

You are going to need at least a High School Diploma if you want any chance at getting a decent job. Her again you need factual information. Some school systems have programs for unwed mothers to get them back in school so that they can finish their primary eduction. Should your local school system not have such a program then start taking the GED course to get your GED Diploma.

Your local office of social service can be a big help to you in navigating the maze of office's and paperwork it will take to get assistance for you and your baby while you finish your education, this would include going on to college. There is no shame in taking assistance while you work to better yourself for a better life. Social services will also see to it that the child's father provides support for the baby as well

You made a mistake, not the baby the baby is a bundle of joy who deserves the best you can provide. The mistake was getting pregnant at such a young age. This mistake does not have to ruin your life, it just means you have to work a little harder to get the opportunities that are out their.

Hopefully both your family and the child's fathers family are being supportive. As for the father he is responsible for the child for the nest 18 years and you owe it to the child to make sure the father lives up to his responsibilities. Social Services can refer you to a Pro Bono Law Clinic who will prepare the proper paperwork to ensure the father continues to support his child.

I know this sounds a little overwhelming, but social services will guide you through all of this. Tomorrow morning call the county office of social service and make an appointment for you and your baby to see them.

Grocery stores sometimes hire at age fifteen for somewhat limited hours. Small family businesses may also hire you, but otherwise you're out of luck 'til you're 16. Your best options are odd jobs for neighbors/family.
