My boyfriend and i had sex and we used a condom. afterward, he took off the condom, put on hand sanitzer, used a hand sanitizer wipe, and fingered me like five minutes later. i'm freaking out about the possibility of pregnancy because i feel like he could have touched sperm when he took off the condom, and apparently hand sanitizer doesn't kill sperm. but, i also thought that if his hands were completely dry before he fingered me, which they were, it would be okay because sperm is killed when it dries. also, he used a hand sanitizer wipe, so that could have at least wiped the sperm off of his hands. so, am i okay, or should i go buy the morning after pill?...

i don't think there is any chance of you being pregnant. Take a test just in cause though. I heard that when it hits air it dies straight the way, and it normallly dries quite quickly if not turned into a baby.
Peeps answered Sunday October 3 2010, 9:09 pm: When the sperm is fully dried then they are dead. If his hands were completely dry then no sperm were likely to be alive. By the time it dries the sperm have no fluid to swim and survive in so they are likely to be dead.
So, sure, if one sperm was a live then you could get pregnant. I mean, it does only take ONE sperm to impregnate you. Fortunately, this is pretty darn low risk. The alcohol probably helped dry the semen faster and there was a good 5 minutes in between which probably allowed the hands to dry completely with that sanitizer.
Next time, have your partner quickly wash his hands. It'll save all of this whole slight-possibilities thing and ease your mind. The sperm will wash down the road and the soap should handle drying the hands enough to prevent them from living if they are still on there somewhere.
I wouldn't jump the gun and buy the morning after pill for this. Then again, it's entirely up to you. If you feel you put yourself into too much risk then definitely do it. If you feel your odds are plenty low enough then skip the pill and monitor yourself. Your risk is pretty darn low.
