For people who have two dogs!

Question Posted Tuesday September 28 2010, 2:50 pm

Ok I have a 3 year old westie And a 15 week old Maltese. Both are females. I got the maltese at 8 weeks. The two have sniffed eachother and sat next to eachother but that's it. My older dog was in her cage and the little one was running around she went by her cage and they both got down and that playful way. But the big one growled and almost bit the little one through the cage. What should I do? When is it ok for them to play? The Maltese is only 2.5 pounds and the big
one is 14 pounds.

Hey there, I have a Westie also and a yellow lab. So obviously, this is quite a size difference haha...you shouldn't worry, westies in general don't tend to be too vicious...it won't maul your little dog. Sometimes my dogs snap at each other but they've never ever gotten into an actual fight. Goodluck.
