What is a bestie?
This girl I'm friends with started calling me her "bestie" today at lunch. She said something like "You know what, Bestie? You're the greatest." I don't really know what that means? What does it mean when somebody calls you their bestie? Or besty, maybe? I don't know?

bestie is a nickname people give you when thy called you their best friend. That's all it means
when she says that. Like hey best friend..... But instead she says bestie

I think it just means that she is calling you her best friend.
