I got B's in Math and Biology... Now how do I tell my parents?
Question Posted Thursday August 12 2010, 8:24 am
I just recieved my Olevel results via Internet and I got B's in both Math and Biology.
I know how I did and I'm accepting of my grade because I know I did the best I could have. But my parents aren't exactly B accepting people. It's either A or nothing.
Not to mention my sister has completed all A's in her olevels so now their going to say she did it but you couldn't!
I'm scared... I don't know what to say. Not that I can ever get a word in edgeways, they never let you speak..... If I do speak then I'm supposedly arguing.
Your parents are unreasonable with their policy on As and actually are and can damage your self-esteem or get you so mentally wound up that you're scared to do anything at school.
You should tell your teacher that you're fine with a B, tried hard, and are looking to move forward but that your parents demand all As and it's seriously playing with your self-esteem. They can sit down with them and have it out over why you got Bs and how unreasonable they're being. You can't do that. He/she can.
Be proud that you did your best and continue to do your best at school. If your best isn't As all the time that's okay too so long as you know you tried hard. No matter what your parents say to you NOTHING can change the fact you worked your butt off just as hard for a B as you would an A.
Your sister is a different individual and her achievements have NOTHING to do with yours nor can they truly undermine yours no matter what anyone says. She's just better in those two subjects than you and likewise you do well in certain subjects she can't. Anybody who doesn't comprehend that needs to be set straight by your teacher. and this arguing just ignore it! just ignore it. because you got the Bs and thats that. its not as if you can change the grades.
and dont compare yourself to your sister. she might hadve doen different subjects which might have been easier.
